This is Constable Dr. Chibwe Musanshi, she just graduated from the University of Zambia with a Doctorate in Peace, Leadership and Cønflict Resolution.
Constable is the lowest rank in the Police service, as such, some people feel that she should be promoted given her qualifications.
I agree with this line of thought, promoting her demonstrates that we value education and motivates others to further their education. Think of it, some Constables only have a Grade 12 certificate and if Dr. Chibwe Musanshi remains a Constable despite attaining a Doctorate, why should a G.C.E. wiêldîng Constable even bother getting a Degree?
We have seen Police Officers and others in the Military get promoted by virtue of winning football matches on top of being paid by FAZ. What more an individual that sacrifices their own finances to invest in upgrading their education? Surely they deserve even at bare minimum the next rank.
Others may argue that just because one upgrades their qualification doesn't necessarily mean they should automatically be promoted. Which is true! Education alone doesn't merit promotion, otherwise how many people will be promoted?
What are your thoughts?

Zambia Police need to rehire her as Senior Superintendent or Home Affairs can hire her..
Reply DeleteShe deserves it yes though in Zambia we need to put much effort about skills. What is the use of her PhD in line with the Zambian police? I may not be right but anyway this also needs to be considered
